Post Far Out..My Journey
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in 1995..but advised to wait and see ..I waited for approximately two miserable years..until I was finally put on thyroxine 1997...I existed on Eltroxin oblivious to the importance of being properly medicated until September 2008..During that time I suffered joint pain, shooting muscle pains..stomach disorders,Allergies and Chronic fatigue and mood swings and Depression..generally feeling unwell....I went to see various specialists who basically were sympathetic but took a wait and see approach also..My Doctor prescribed Prozac and said it would fix everything and was liquid sunshine...I was not convinced and threw the Prozac away..I changed doctors a few times and was given the same conclusion..I gave up with the medical profession and decided to go a more naturalistic sort of way..whilst continuing with Eltroxin...147 mcgs..
I continued soldiering on until....

September 11th 2008 or there abouts was a momentous day for me and not because of Alqueda and the twin towers but GSK and that band of terrorists... I discovered the truth about GSK Heltoxin..when my pharmacist happened by chance to mention the problem with splitting the pills..

Here in begins the next saga...I managed to get a new script of Levothyroxine called Almus...what an immediate difference it made to me..and it was at that point that I learnt about the symptoms of GSK on the internet..Mary Shamon,www.about.com etc etc.
I had the same classic symptoms of GSK Poisoning.
Brain fog,Vision disturbances,throat swelling and difficulty swallowing,chronic fatigue,stomach problems,sore joints,neckpain,numb face and painful left shoulder and arm and chest pains,.Muscle weakness.sore feet,sweating profusely,mood swings.etc etc.
Much of these symptoms started to go my TSH returned to normal range..when I was on Almus..4 weeks supply only....but my local pharmacist's supply ran out and I was given...Synthroid but I got massive headaches and a return of chest pains..so I asked for an alternative...and was given Goldshield, a non subsidized product....I was beginning to feel really bad from all the changes and not really sure by now what was causing what....and a new symptom started that I had never had before and that was my legs started to swell up badly from the knee down.I felt very panicky at this point as I didn't know whom I could trust..so went back onto the old formulation of GSk not the Heltroxin....to try and stabilise...I contacted Allan from Temuka and went and saw him...he suggested I go back onto Goldshield as he thought that my symptoms sounded as if I were taking too much..and that Goldshield was much stronger than GSK Eltroxin... I reduced to 100 mcgs as he suggested and stayed on Goldshield for 2 -3 weeks until the new subsidised version of Goldshield(Forleys) came..I switched to GS Forley generics..on November 5th 08..I was starting to get Hypo symptoms but my Doc said to stay on 100mcgs ...and after some lab tests with I was found out to be severely Hypo(HH)...and I was still getting chest pain and the leg swelling and sweating during the day and basal temps of 35.C etc.and I was still feeling really terrible..

I heard about natural thyroid(WTE) from the people on here and discovered that I needed a WTE friendly doctor to prescribe it for me...I was very fortunate to have one only an hours drive from me...I persevered until she would see me..
I signed in with a new Doctor once again...not really expecting any different approach...

FarOut..how wrong I was.....

At the first Appointment, she diagnosed me with Glandular fever, possible Adrenal Gland Fatigue and Hashimotos both of which have come back positive..
My Microsomal antibodies were sitting at 1600 titre and my DHEA is low and needing supplementation..but my Holistic doctor says to try natural means first..and see if WTE can heal that area of my life as well..

I have now been on WTE for nearly a month now...
How different I feel..I was a little scared of letting go of the synthetic levo..but since learning to trust WTE,I am going to remove it from my life,I should be weaned off Levo by the end of the week..

Synthetic keeps you alive and miserable....WTE give you your life and health back..

Far Out AKA Past tense...Ceramikca...
